No Agent Taobao Direct Buying Guide! Let's view all baby and determine

Taobao Direct Guide for users familiar with 3rd party agents and navigating taobao (with chrome google translate on, hence the title)
What is Taobao direct? Basically instead of copying and pasting the item URL into the agent website, you add items to your cart like a regular ecommerce site, check out, wait for items to arrive in the warehouse (similar to what happens when you use an agent) and then when all your items from various sellers are in, you request the logistics company to send everything to you.
Disclaimer: I have no Chinese fluency written or otherwise. I did everything through Google translate and my experience with how tb works through agents. If something goes wrong I will probably write off the item 🤣 if you communicate a lot with the ts who use translators it also helps get your point across. If you type in English in tb live chat they will redirect you to the HK/tw help staff who have medium English. Also I bought items I purchased previously with an agent or vouched for here on RL or had crazy high reviews/ratings.
Pros:
Cons:
I think the ideal usage for taobao direct would be light items like innerwear, jewelry, soft/non fragile goods, generally clothing and shoes although I don’t know if they will include the box by default.
Please see here for the image guide for ordering Sorry in advance if my descriptions are wonky, I'm not great at following OR writing instructions but hopefully the screenshots make it easier to follow along.
  1. Create an account (there are various guides out there for overseas members) and go into your account and add your home address (or the superbuy warehouse address)
  2. Find your items and change the delivery location to "overseas", add to cart
  3. When you're ready to check out hit check out, enter your cc info on the alipay (remember to use a card that doesn't charge foreign transaction fees) and confirm it goes through.
  4. Wait for all your stuff to come in. When its in the tb warehouse it will show up in the "consolidated delivery" section tagged with a weight (usually volumetric or actual). The 20 day countdown will start once its available for international shipping.
  5. After all your items are in, or you can batch up by selecting items on the consolidated delivery page, submit for delivery. Pay again through alipay.
  6. Use the check logistics option to get the tracking info and wait for your haul!
  7. After receiving but before you open, take photos of it on a scale and the lxwxh with a ruler as well. This is because they will overestimate your shipping but there isn't rehearsal shipping like with agents. You can request a refund after the fact with the "refund/complaint" option on the consolidated delivery page (mine says check refund because I've already gone through it)
  8. Getting a refund: select the "only refund" option, "goods received" and "shipping cost does not match" and leave the full shipping amount in. Upload your measurement and weight photos (make sure the file size is not too big). Within 72hr they will reply and ask you to modify your application with the real amount owed (if any). It will go back to your cc through alipay (may take a few days).
Cost comparison: Even after the 5% sales tax and 3% alipay, it cost me $6.20 total from my credit card statement. A 39 yuan top up for sb is $6.53 as of today (if using paypal). For some the qc pictures and the longer storage period are well worth the difference. However a good compromise is the parcel forwarding option in sb. Instead of shipping to your house you can set up superbuy’s warehouse address and pay in taobao and wait for your items to show up in sb. You also have to submit the item link and the tracking # in superbuy so they can find your stuff. There's no sales tax and usually no shipping and you can select the coupons you want. I had a pair of pants make it to the sb warehouse almost 24hr after ordering, and another 24hr after entering my shipping info and item link in sb, it showed up in my account with free (non hd) pictures of the item. Then I cried putting together the shipping parcel lol.
This is a good way to dodge the sales tax and hold items for longer. However then you're at the mercy of the shipping costs (but you do have more options for delivery lines and you can customize how you want your items packaged too). The taobao warehouse will really throw everything in there, probably in a poly envelope.
The taobao shipping rates are 90yuan for the first .5kg and 48 yuan per every .5 after which is very competitive even after accounting for volumetric weight. Sb ems starts at 186 for the first .5kg and 61y every .5kg after. Of course rates and terms are subject to change with the times.
I had a package that came in at 277g when I measured it at home but I was charged for 1.6kg. After sending in the package images they refunded 144yuan (the true volumetric weight was about .97kg.) Taobao volumetric calculation is lxwxh (cm)/6000. Timeline wise I submitted 8/16 and received 8/28 although I think because it was so light they used epacket/china post because it was not an EMS tracking # big sigh. Still less than 10 days can't complain.
Hope this helps! I'm sure I missed something on this guide so feel free to leave any questions and I will update the post accordingly. Apologies this is very us-centric, I also cannot comment on getting a refund or exchange from sellers before you ship out but there is now english support (albeit a bit wonky) through chat and aliwangwang+google translate can get you pretty far.
Ps: highly recommend using the app too as its easier to get chat messages from the seller. You can screenshot and upload images to Google translate to read the text.

Making the jump: how to leave day job and concentrate on trading instead

Hi everyone...
I've been thinking about this topic for a while now but never really addressed it with some serious thought.
Currently I'm employed full time by a consulting firm and it's a nice job indeed (well payed, nice benefits, great colleagues, soon-to-become junior partner). Nevertheless I still feel it doesn't tick all the boxes for me:
That said, I'm starting to think a regular job will never fit with these requirements and I'm looking at alternatives: this is where trading comes in. I've been interested in trading for a few years now and my current situation on the topic is the following:
On one end I feel if only I could have enough time to focus and concentrate on this I think I might be successful, on the other end not I'm well aware I could easily lose all my money and the uncertainty of the income scares me.
As of now, I'm defining something that resambles a plan to jump ship and it looks like the following:
  1. Define starting capital i need before quitting my job (probably around 20k€ for the markets + 5k€ as rainy days fund)
  2. Define how much I need to make each month to survive and keep on trading (somewhere between 1.5k€/2k€ at least)
  3. Define "point of no return" (how much of said capital I'm ok to burn before reverting back to searching for a regular job)
  4. Feasibility check
  5. Define exit plan from current job
So, in order to converge to a conclusion, I need advice from people that may have found themeselves in my same spot. How did you make the jump? How did you cope with fear and uncertainty? How did you prepare to switch? Is there something major I'm missing?
Thanks for all your feedbacks!

[REVIEW] My First Haul

PK BASF YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 CLAYS

Seller: Vicky
Payment Assistance: Zendrian Global Trading
Shipping Agent: Zendrian Global Trading

January 5 – Inquire the availability of the shoes and its price in CNY from Vicky’s WhatsApp.
January 6 – Paid Vicky through Zendrian’s payment assistance.
January 7 – Vicky gave the QCs through WhatsApp
January 8 – GLed the pair then Vicky shipped immediately that day.
January 10 – Received by Zendrian warehouse in China
January 17 – Zendrian told me that the package is now available for pickup.

Verdict
Seller: My first pair from her. Sobrang bilis niyang mag-reply sa mga inquiry ko. Straightforward lang naman transaction namin. Tinanong ko kung available, price and to be shipped domestically. After that, siya na nagtatanong ng info needed for those. Gaganda ng PK BASF niya imagine GL agad first QC. One more thing, nakadouble box nung sinend niya kay Zendrian. I would love to buy again from her in the future.
Payment Assistance: Mas mura rate ni Zendrian Global Trading kesa SWK. Anyway, mabagal mag-reply and if possible dapat lahat nagawa mo na kung makikipagtransaction ka sakanila like nahulog mo na sa BDO account yung bayad mo and nabigay mo na Alipay account ng seller mo. Since sila palang naman available na murang payment assistance, I would definitely use their payment assistance again in the future unless may bago silang contender.
Shipping Agent: As you can see, almost 7 days bago ko nakuha yung package ko. Medyo pricey with average shipping time and a bad CS. Yung iba 1.5kg yung 1 pair nila sakin 2kg (Yeezys and double boxed din), seems like inconsistent yung weight calculation nila. Paswertehan nalang siguro kung maka1.5 ka or 2kg per pair. Anyway, with this experience, I will not use them again as shipping agent.

Price Calculations:
Shoes – 520CNY
Payment Assistance – 7.3946 (BDO Forex) x 1.015 x 520 = 3,903 + 200 = 4,103 PHP
Shipping – 800 PHP / kg x 2 kg = 1,600 PHP + 244 PHP (Lalamove) = 1,844 PHP
Total = 5,947 PHP

BUDGET BATCH YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 TRUEFORM & STATIC REFLECTIVE

Seller: BMLIN (Yupoo)
Shopping Agent: Ytaopal
Payment Assistance: Zendrian Global Trading
Shipping Agent: Sunwukong/Metro Mercado/Sapo

January 6 – Order made in Ytaopal website
January 7 – Ytaopal paid the seller (BMLIN)
January 10 – Received by Ytaopal. Gave me their free QCs
January 13 – Shipped by Ytaopal to SWK’s warehouse in China
January 15 – Received by SWK in China
January 17 – SWK told me that the package is now available for pickup

Verdict
Shoes: Ganda ng shoes. It feels great on-foot. However, may mga imperfections lang siya like hindi magkapantay yung stripes and yung pagka-angle niya sa likod ng sapatos. Pero for the price, good quality na siya. You get what you pay for naman.
Ytaopal: Limited yung CS nila which is available only from 9:30AM to 6PM. Also, it’s not available ng lunchtime 12:00PM to 1:00PM. Napakadaling mag-order sa site nila dahil din siguro sa gumawa ng guide (thanks to you!). Anyway, ayoko lang medyo panget yung packing process nila dahil siguro libre lang. Nilagay lang nila yung bawat sapatos sa isang bubble sleeves (4 bubble sleeves in total) then with outer layer na plastic. (for reference) Their CS is not that bad and not that great, but they can do things naman. Like nagrequest ka for QCs this day, expect it na makukuha mo na the next day. Anyway, when it comes to purchasing sa Yupoo, I’ll use Ytaopal again dahil mababa lang fee nila (4%).
Shipping Agent: Halos same CS quality lang sila ni Zendrian but wow, grabe 2 days lang nasa Pinas na agad yung package ko. Yung package in good condition naman, walang sira or whatsoever. Anyway, I would use them again in my next haul dahil napakamura ng rate nila compared kay Zendrian kahit na medyo inconsistent yung shipping time.

Price Calculations:
Shoes – 180CNY (Static Reflective) & 160CNY (Trueform) = 340CNY
Domestic Shipping – 30CNY (BMLIN to Ytaopal) + 55CNY (Ytaopal to SWK) = 85CNY
Ytaopal’s Additional Fees – 340 + 85 = 425CNY x 1.04 = 442CNY
Payment Assistance – 7.3946 (BDO Forex) x 1.015 x 442CNY = 3,318 PHP + 133 = 3,451 PHP
Shipping – 580 PHP / kg x 1.5 kg = 870 PHP + 132 PHP (Lalamove) = 1,002 PHP
Total = 3,451 + 1,002 = 4,453 PHP

GUCCI ACE BEES EMBROIDERED SNEAKER

Seller: Jin (Yupoo)
Shopping Agent: Ytaopal
Payment Assistance: Zendrian Global Trading
Shipping Agent: DHL

January 6 – Order made in Ytaopal website
January 7 – Ytaopal paid Jin
January 13 – Received by Ytaopal. Gave me their free QCs
January 15 – Shipped by Ytaopal to DHL
PENDING –

Verdict
Shoes: -
Shipping Agent: No to DHL again.

Price Calculations
Shoes – 450CNY
Domestic Shipping – 10CNY (Jin to Ytaopal)
DHL Fees – 2.9kg (double box) = 300CNY
Ytaopal’s Additional Fees – 460 + 300 = 760CNY x 1.04 = 790.4CNY
Payment Assistance - 7.3946 (BDO Forex) x 1.015 x 790.4CNY = 5,933 PHP + 67 = 6,000 PHP
Total = 6,000 PHP

Small parcel shipping to the Philippines from the USA

I have some friends near Manila and I've had a box of stuff in my house I need to send them (children's clothing, birthday presents) that I bought domestically in the US like a year ago. Is there some non-insanely expensive way to send something from the US to a rural Philippines address?
Just checking FedEx/UPS yields astronomically high prices for even small, light packages. Like $150 for a small box of stuff that cost me like $50. I'm curious what other ways people in the US send small parcels cost-effectively to the Philippines. Perhaps a company specialized in this niche or something? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why People Love Egg Tray Making Machine Price In India?

Why People Love Egg Tray Making Machine Price In India?
In this post, we will briefly discuss some of the factors why people prefer the egg tray making machine price in India, but first, we should explain some of the good reason why egg tray manufacturing companies are on the rise. Basically, the biggest reason why egg tray manufacturers are performing well is the fact that demand for recyclable packaging material is increasing daily. This because more and more people are getting to be aware about the damaging impact non-recyclable food packaging could have in the environment and so are switching to suppliers that utilize eco-friendly packaging options.

Egg Tray Making Machine in India
Egg trays are perhaps one of the more eco-friendly food packaging available options. Not only are they fully recyclable themselves, but are also produced from recycled paper materials, including used newspapers, cardboard boxes and corrugated cartons. Egg trays are strong and they protect eggs from your impact of mechanical shocks that happen in the handling, transportation and storing operations. What's more, the trays are often stackable, therefore they don't take up much space in warehouses and they are incredibly lightweight, making them suitable for air cargo where every extra gram counts.

In terms of beginning an egg tray manufacturing business, the first things people should do is to buy a rotary egg tray making machine. There are many different models available and many suppliers in the industry. When we mentioned in this particular article's opening, many individuals now choose to buy their machinery from India. It is because suppliers in america offer high-quality, top-rated egg tray machinery at knock-down prices. Moreover, international buyers can make the most of forex rates.

Many of the egg making machines from India offer a lot more functionality compared to machines available in the US. Many of the machines are fully automated with integrated drying systems and are designed for outputting as much as 8000 pcs each hour. This simply means manufacturers can easily maximize their profits and achieve fast turnarounds on all orders.

Another benefit of buying manufacturing machinery would be that the spare parts are usually very easy to source. Suppliers can often send spares to buyers on the overnight shipping service, so their machinery is not from commission for too long time periods. Spares may also be generally very inexpensive from India even if any additional international shipping pricing is taken into account.

When selecting almost any egg tray machinery, however, it important to ensure you only assist reputable suppliers. You need to be sure every one of the machinery you might be buying meets top quality and safety checks and is also legal to work in your home country. In addition, you need to be cautious about any import duty charges and taxes you could have to cover.

Take into account that once you buy expensive, heavyweight, industrial machinery from aboard, the practicalities of returning the equipment can present a problem. This means you must take a chance to research all the various egg tray making machine models before you place an order, so you can be certain you will be given a machine that meets your business's requirements.

Business startups level of difficulty

Good afternoon,

I live in a country where prices are unregulated and it's basically an open market type of affair. My background is IT and I've been trying to get enough capital for a startup by doing small sales with computer parts and sales (building complete PC's). The difficulty with this, is that sales are slow, even though the sales for others are thriving. Our local tech stores, of which there aren't many, has an exorbitant markup, so people are now starting to import their own goods through online shipping and sky box. It has gotten to a point where, the Forex issues has caused banks to limit online expenditure by citizens. Outside of this where the cost of an item may be 1500, I would resell for 2000 whereas the store has them for 6000 and I am still told, I am overpriced. I assume because our country is small, it is because the other people who have started doing that are selling the item at maybe 1550 or 1600. Our exchange rate is 7 to 1 USD.

Looking for opinions as to if I should drop my price to match or undersell to get more sales. My fear with this is that the others who sell this low are established and I may not see improvement. Should I abandon this entirely?
While I do have a job it simply does not cover rent and other expenditures I have so I am trying to open this business to offset those costs and hopefully have a better standard of living in the future.

Optimization for a 4X space game.

So I've been playing around with some elements for a 4X space game and I'm working on the Galaxy map right now. I was working on a system for optimized selection of star systems using raycasting and sphere colliders, but I was thinking of doing so many stars that I was worried about taking a performance hit, so I decided to break the Galaxy into cubic "sectors" in a grid-like pattern where the game first checks for a collision for the sector's box collider, then it only has to check the colliders for the stars within that specific sector rather than the whole Galaxy, but it got me to thinking that maybe it would also be an effective way to optimize other elements as well.
The Galaxy would effectively be a nested array with first a list of sectors then each sector having a list of stars. Sectors without any inhabited systems wouldn't be checked for anything at all, and even after the whole map gets filled up, I could still optimize it by having certain checks skip over sectors that don't have any particular activities going on(sectors where there are no ships and no ships are headed there don't need to be checked for combat forex), or sectors without any systems that meet certain criteria would not he checked for any related events.
I was wondering if this makes sense to people here and any thoughts some folks might have? Or if this seems like I'm reinventing the wheel and there is a simpler way of doing what I'm working on?
Thanks in advance.

tips on selling grocery/produce items on ebay?

Im down here by the border. The big grocery chain down here gets alot of product from mexico. They also got stores across the border. I would like to get into shipping out beverages or chips by the box.
I can get them real cheap from the distribution center in mexico due to FOREX.
Good idea or no? Cause what im selling is seasonal. Only for the summer. due to the weather getting colder my sales are not as consistent.

Need a new rig for general gaming, forex, graphics. Budget is 800. Not is the US. Help.

What will you be doing with this PC? Forex trading, some computer graphics and gaming.
What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping Under 800 but it seems that might be hard after reading about a trader and a 1400 dollar budget. I will be setting up at least two screens most likely three. If you let me know what I would need that would be great too.
When do you plan on building/buying the PC? before April. taxes go up here then.
What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? OS, and core components. I have an old dell I think I can scrap for some parts like the dvd burner but I have an external one now. Im wondering if I could use my old dell case to save a bit of money.
Which country will you be purchasing the parts in? Japan. If reusing any parts (including peripherals), what parts will you be reusing? dvd from old dell and case if possible.
Will you be overclocking. Yes if possible.
If there's any specific features you want/need from the rig, please list them. well I found this deal online here http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B00GJIHIK2/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AN1VRQENFRJN5 sorry for it being Japanese. Its seems like a decent package and wanted to know if I should go with this and add some more ram and an extra graphics card to handle multiple screens for 600 dollars.
Do you have any specific case preferences such as a window or LEDs, or do you have a preference for low-noise components? A wooden box would be fine with me.
Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? No and since im in japan i have to go with win 8 since I can change the language.
Extra info: Thank you for your help and suggestions. I been without a home PC for a few years now so anything new will be extremely fast to me. I have been debating whether to go AMD or Intel and have read articles and reddit comments but I'm still confused at to how they compare to each other on price vs power.
